Art Jaeger, a consultant to Watson Green, has more than 30 years’ communications and public policy experience, much of it in the food and agriculture area. He was a journalist for eight years and a House and Senate press secretary for nearly a decade. He also spent several years helping the Democratic staff of the Senate agriculture committee with media relations.
After leaving Capitol Hill, Art held communications positions with several influential research and advocacy organizations. In 1999, he joined former Assistant Secretary of Agriculture Carol Tucker Forman in establishing the Food Policy Institute at the Consumer Federation of America.
Art has published opinion articles in newspapers ranging from small-town weeklies to The Washington Post. As an advocate, he testified before Congress several times and has been interviewed by the major broadcast networks. Art has received a number of writing awards and holds a Bronze Star Medal for service as an Army journalist in Vietnam.
